Cd-presentation concert Liza Ferschtman in Amsterdam
On January 28th, Dutch violinist Liza Ferschtman gave a soloconcert and cd-presentation in the Engelse Kerk in Amsterdam. She started playing the Partita no.3 (E major BWV 1006) of J.S. Bach and Sonata no.2 (a minor op.27 no.2) of Eugène Ysaÿe in a passionate way, going deep into the core of these works.
Liza Ferschtman's intense tone, which has a sharp edge but never loses its profound warmth, touched all the people who where present at the church. The playing of these soloworks is always very special: being alone on the stage with your instrument. You can only count on yourself and your instrument and you have to be very confident to pull it off. Liza pulled it of and more than that, it was magical indeed.
After the concert, Mark Brouwers of National Dutch Radio entered the stage and he asked Liza a few questions about her new cd and the works of Bach and Ysaÿe. Then he gave her the first cd which she handed out to both her parents. She praised them for keeping their distance in this whole cd-project. This was something very difficult for them, because coming from a very musical family, opinions they have. But this time they kept their opinions to themselves most of the time. Liza was even happy that at first they advised her nót to record these soloworks. Liza was very strong though, in her conviction to do so and after their advise, her parents let her do her thing, without comments.
Now this cd is finished and released: a superb listening experience, highly recommended! You can listen to some listening streams of this new cd here
